JoesHeading

Joe Hernandez was featured in Bits & Spurs, Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin. This is what was said about him by the Martin's at that time:

"Joe has spent his entire life on the Old Spur Ranch in central California. He has grown up as a horseman and a cattleman and still works full time as a cowboy. Ater high school Joe spent two years learning to make bits and spurs form maker, Bob Hall, in Jolon, California. He does overlays and inlays as well as chasing the iron to embellish his pieces. His work has been on exhibit in Paso Robles and in Hollister California."

I am a c ollector of fine buckaroo gear and I'm thrilled to now have one of Joe's bits in my stash....it is one of the finest pieces I own. It is a bit that I will be using too, not just displaying...it is a beautifully balanced spade (third from the left , lst row) and is nicely coppered up...I know Rio, my horse, will really like it. – Mary Hyde
